Come to the Georgia Mountains!

The Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia stretch across the counties of Pickens, Gilmer, Fannin, Union and Towns. The charm of our old fashioned small towns and the lush beauty of natural untouched wilderness and abundant wildlife have long made North Georgia a favorite vacation spot for those wanting a fun and relaxing getaway from everyday life.

You and your family can spend summer and spring days outdoors—mountain biking, hiking, white water rafting, fishing and swimming. Fall means apples and the changing leaves, and winter brings snow tipped mountains, and rocking chairs by the fire. If you are a motorcycle or car enthusiast, there are endless miles of beautiful scenic mountain roads at your disposal.

If you are one of the many vacationers who have been visiting our mountains, imagine the joy of moving to North Georgia permanently, or buying a second home to enjoy with your kids and grandkids. Perhaps you would like to find a fantastic deal on some Ellijay land for sale that you can use for camping or fishing until you are ready to build your dream home to which you can retire. Anything is possible when you decide to own a piece of the mountains.

Below are just a few of the lovely mountain towns in our area, but the possibilities are endless when you decide to start your search for real estate in North Georgia. Prices have never been so low! Take advantage of this market to make your dream of owning Blue Ridge property a reality!

Ellijay Land

About 90 miles north of Atlanta and 80 miles southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee, you will find Ellijay, the county seat of Gilmer County. If you have visited Ellijay before, you no doubt have wonderful memories about the panoramic mountain views and bubbling brooks and rivers. Mountaintown Creek, the Cartecay River, Ellijay River and the Coosawattee River all flow through Ellijay, making it the home to some of the best canoeing, kayaking, and trout fishing in all of North Georgia!

If lakes are more your speed, visit Georgia's best kept secret—Carter's Lake, formed from the bed of the Coosawattee River. Carters Lake is Georgia's deepest lake whose untouched 62 miles of natural shoreline encircle 3,200 acres of clear, clean water and offer recreational opportunities for fishermen, hunters, campers, boatsmen, bikers and hikers. People drive for hours to enjoy this natural treasure—imagine owning a cabin just minutes away!

Ellijay is also the "Apple Capital of Georgia" which means it is filled with apple orchards, apple houses, and is the site for the renown "Georgia Apple Festival" held the 2nd and 3rd weekends in October. If you miss fresh pressed cider and granny's fried apple pies, Ellijay is the place to get them!

Ellijay is the starting point of the Appalachian Trail. Because of its miles of trails and thousands of acres of protected National Forest land, Ellijay was just named the Mountain Biking Capital of Georgia. If you are a golfer-you could look for Real Estate on Whitepath Golf Course—a beautiful course just minutes from downtown Ellijay.

All of this is just an hour drive north of Atlanta. Come explore this little town and you will see why my Ellijay Real Estate clients thank me over and over again for helping them buy their dream home in Gilmer County!

Blue Ridge Property

Would you love to spend your weekends exploring the Aska Adventure Area of the Toccoa River? Maybe you can see yourself enjoying fun filled days on Beautiful Lake Blue Ridge. If so, consider buying real estate in Blue Ridge, Georgia!

Situated in Fannin County, Blue Ridge and its surrounding towns and communities have so much to offer. It is often called the "gateway to the blue ridge mountains." Its charming downtown area is filled with galleries, shops and delicious restaurants. There are homes available on the tops of mountains, cottages nestled in the woods and cabins sitting along Fightingtown Creek.

If you have dreamed of owning a lake home, but have always felt that Lake Lanier was out of your price range, please let me help you explore the real estate market of Lake Blue Ridge. Lake Blue Ridge is a 3,290 acre lake with a full service marina and public swimming and picnic areas. Escape to the relaxing mountains of Blue Ridge Georgia, and you'll soon want to call it home!

Jasper GA Community

If you would prefer to be a little closer to Atlanta, consider buying property in Jasper, Georgia, where the county's major resource, marble, gives us Georgia's annual Marble Festival held in Jasper the first weekend in October. This is an opportunity for visitors to tour the pit marble quarries, watch sculptors make marble pieces of art, enjoy arts and crafts, and be entertained by mountain music and country clogging. There are many interesting buildings faced in marble, such as the 1906 jail which is restored and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Many of my clients feel that it is just the right distance from Atlanta to still feel connected, but far enough north to get a feel for the mountains. Pickens County features several well established upscale gated mountain communities like Big Canoe and Sharp Mountain Preserve. Its quaint downtown area boasts galleries, charming stores and outstanding gourmet restaurants. All less than an hour from Atlanta.
